"Our Director"
Perhaps many ex-apprentices won't recognise the proper title of this old march, knowing it only as "We're a Pack of Bastards". This may be a rather crude title, but it was this march that made us all get the swagger, and feel proud to be an Army Apprentice.
It wasn't our official march (I don't know if we had one), but there was no other that was more important to the AAS. It is though the official march of the 3rd Bn RAR, 12/16 Hunter River Lancers, and 5/6 Bn RVR.
The march was composed by Frederick Ellsworth Bigelow (1873 - 1929), who was a Saxophonist and Clarinetist from Ashlands, Massachusetts, USA. It was first published in 1892, so has been around for a while.
